Notes: these cocoa beans come from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, a special place that's home to the world’s tallest coastal and glacial mountains that contain all of the Earth’s biomes. This cacao is grown in small agroforestry farms in a region where palm and banana plantations are affecting biodiversity. In 2019 Denise met Pedro Bolivar, a 3rd generation cocoa farmer who said he has “cacao in his blood.”
